Indigenous Community Praxis and Programs during COVID-19

The COVID-19 Pandemic has substantially affected Indigenous communities. Deterrence of physical and mental health within communities been prevalent through unjust social, environmental economic factors, due to pre-existing conditions, unsustainable overcrowded housing, limited care services, inadequate access clean drinking water (Independent Auditor’s Report, 2021). These factors have resulted in exacerbated trauma symptoms (Arriagada, et. al., 2020). needed adapt methods attaining medical order maintain personal communal wellbeing. We offer a summary the delivery two programs: Medicine Keeper Wellness Program Creative Corner Program, which were conducted Northern Central Interior Southern by social workers, continue individual community wellness. programs navigated barriers presented as result restrictions therein, accessing work therapeutic services.
